Random Rambles: First Thoughts on Doctor Who

Image
It's been around half a year since I watched a Doctor Who episode. Let me just say that I'm incredibly lazy and my TV watchlist is already backlogged as it is. I was just done with "Blink" and about to finish season 3 and then I just stopped and moved onto Breaking Bad. So this is still technically my primary thoughts since I haven't watched the new series in its entirety and I also haven't watched the old Doctor Who in the 20th century. Doctor Who has a huge following that is almost religious. Every single person on the internet seems to be a fanatic and love the show. People are claiming that David Tennant is a god while other claim that Matt Smith is the better Doctor. Anyways, the whole pandemonium served to make me more intrigued by the whole phenomenon. There had to be something about the show that appealed to so many people. To cut to the chase, Doctor Who did interest me at first that I continued watching until season 3. I liked the fiction side ...

A Strain on the Friendship

Image
Sitting in that living room, I was angry. I was in my friend's house to play the Wii U with Toby, Wilson, and Andrew. I won't disclose my host's name for deference, but let it be known that I am enraged at him. Toby, Wilson, my friend, and I were playing Mario Party 9. We were playing this minigame which involved punching each other off a platform into the lava. Because we were all saints, we decided that we should all win first place by doing nothing. I watched in horror as Toby and Wilson tried to avenge me but suffered the same fate I did. My friend won and did this victory dance while Toby, Wilson, and I were threatening to collaborate against him. Super Smash Bros. has nothing compared to Mario Party. When he won at the end, I swore to carry this grudge to my grave. Friendship is such...

Random Rambles on: The Future

The future is something we are enthralled by. We may be petrified of it or we could be eagerly anticipating its arrival. We don't know what happens in the future and that's what makes us scared. We don't know if aliens, nuclear armageddon, civil war, political strife, technology, or whatever else will destroy us. We don't know if the future will mark the peak of human civilization with the destruction of natural environment or if it will mark the decay of humans due to our consequences. Judging by how things are shaping up, the future does not look pretty. Because of this, many depictions of the future exists that present their view on the bleak societal changes. One of these is "The Hunger Games." This portrays a society that regressed due to natural occurrences and to the dominating government that corrupts the humans. This is an interesting idea that is possible but I find that it is unlikely. After such disasters, most civil humans decide to work togethe...
